Focus Features’ Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies is set for limited release in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco on December 2, 2022.
The film will expand domestically on December 9, 2022 and will be released wide on December 16, 2022.
Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies, directed by Michael Showalter from a screenplay by David Marshall Grant & Dan Savage, stars Jim Parsons, Ben Aldridge, and Sally Field. Antoni Porowski, Nikki M. James, Jeffery Self, and Bill Irwin will also be featured in the film. Producers on the project are Michael Showalter and Jordana Mollick via their Semi-Formal Productions banner, Jim Parsons, and Todd Spiewak and Alison Mo Massey via the That’s Wonderful Productions banner. Executive Producers are Michael Ausiello, Eric Norsoph, and Jason Sokoloff.
Based on Michael Ausiello’s best-selling memoir “Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies,” the film is a heartwarming, funny and life-affirming story of how Michael and Kit’s relationship is transformed and deepened when one of them falls ill.
